The Island of Phuket is home to a huge range of accommodations from the very cheap backpacker’s dream all the way up to the ultra swanky world class resort destinations. This means that you will be able to find lodging no matter what your budget may be. Below we have listed what we believe to be the top five resorts on the entire Island of Phuket. This is not based upon cost or the facilities that they offer, but rather the ratings of individuals such as yourself and how satisfied they were with their experiences at a given location. We feel that customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction is the number one criteria in determining the worth of a resort. So below is what we believe to be the very best that Phuket has to offer. Of course opinions will vary, but this is ours.
Based on the review system over at www.agoda.com, these five hotels really stand out above their counterparts. The rating system over at Agoda is quite simple. If you book a hotel through their site, when your trip is completed, they allow you to review the place you just stayed. This allows for somewhat unbiased reviews as the scores will not be artificially inflated like on some other travel sites.
This system of rating is not perfect, as a hotel could jump on this list after a few positive reviews in a short span of time. Often times, these hotels are short lived on the list of top hotels. The hotels that we have included below have consistently appeared near or at the top of the list for quite some time.
The Kee Resort & Spa
Location: Patong

The Kee Resort and Spa located just a short walk away from the famous Patong Beach is well deserving of it’s number one spot on our list. The luxurious resort features 244 state of the art rooms that include all of the necessary modern amenities. An additional bonus is the Kee Plaza which offers up over sixy boutiques, shops, restaurants and other services.
Baan Laimai Beach Resort
Location: Patong

Filling out the number two spot on our list is the Baan Laimai Beach Resort in Patong Beach. This glamorous resort is located on what is known as the beach road in Patong and is within just a short walking distance to the heart of the shopping and entertainment district.
Paresa Hotel
Location: Kamala

Number three on our list is the magnificent Paresa Hotel located on the beautiful Kamala Beach. This spectacular 5 star luxury resort is perched atop a cliff in Kamala beach. All living quarters are expansive and they each offer guests a 180 degree view of the sea.
Mövenpick Resort & Spa
Location: Karon

Our number four resort is the Mövenpick Resort & Spa located in beautiful Karon. Each of the 159 private suites at this amazing five star resort comes fully equipped with sundecks and rainforest showers. Many of the suites and villas also offer private plunge pools. If the private villas are out of your price range, the resort also offers 175 fully renovated rooms in the main building.
Katathani Phuket Beach Resort
Location: Kata

Coming in at the number five spot is Katathani Phuket Beach Resort. This remarkable 5 star luxury resort sits along 850 meters of unspoilt white sand beaches of Kata Noi. The resort itself is absolutely stunning, and the fact that it is located on such a superb beach is just a bonus. Kata Noi is away from the more touristy areas, yet is close enough that you can partake if you so choose.

Hi Lawrence I just went on to the kee resort and spa looks amazing. You have definatly picked some ot the top Phuket resorts here. I am dying to get across for a holiday.
For great info thanks lee
I stayed at the Mövenpick hotel not so long ago, maybe two summers back and had a great time. However the place has been built up so much in the past 5 or so years. I used to visit Thailand and Phuket around 15 years ago when it just had the locals and a few small hotels and resorts.
But it is still a very beautiful place

In 2006 I visited Thailand and I couldn`t believe the quality of the hotels. The service was excellent and the Thai people really know how to treat their guests. I am looking forward to go back to Thailand next year
Great article and photos!

I’m planning to be in Phuket later this year and you have given me the idea on what hotels to stay! Also, I noticed that the feedbacks are good and as a reader I’m really enticed! Thanks by the way for sharing.
Phuket has changed and transformed dramatically over the past 10 years, I remember the days when I use to go there and the roads from the airport were dirt tracks and there was no hotel chains at all – but from going recently the it has shot up and there are so many nice places to stay.
Phuket is a brilliant place to visit.

Thanks for posting this list of resorts in Phuket. This may serve as a guide to those who are planning to have a visit to Thailand.
So many amazing resorts, I’ve been wanting to visit Phuket. Paresa resort looks more appealing though, as I prefer the feeling of being on the beach rather than in a building setting. Thanks for this list!
