Although they are centered around the more upscale tourist areas, you can typically find at least one in most areas of the island. These establishments do not merely focus on serving up delicious food, they also cater to serving up a wonderful and memorable experience. These are not the cheapest places to eat, on the contrary, they are typically quite expensive, but you will be left with a memorable experience well after the food has been cleared from your plate.

There are no shortage of restaurants catering to the international crowd. You can find all tastes and varieties throughout the island. Whether you have a craving for Italian, French or maybe something a little more exotic, you can find it in Phuket. These restaurants can be anywhere from very cheap to very expensive depending on the particular venue.

Most local Thai restaurants are the cheapest places that you can grab a bite to eat. They serve up authentic Thai cuisine and sometimes International dishes leave much to be desired. Remember that many Thai dishes are served up spicy, so if you have a mild stomach, you may wish to order the dish not spicy or a little spicy. These levels of spiciness are based on Thai taste, so you may consider a Thai dish that is ‘a little spicy’ to be extremely spicy, so be forewarned.
Noodle Shops
These specialized soup shops offer up delicious and filling meals to many hungry patrons. They are often open late at night and into the early morning, so they are great places to fill up after a long night of partying. Most noodle shops are extremely cheap and are probably the most affordable meal you will have in Phuket.
Food Carts
The bottom of the food service food chain are the food carts. You can find these makeshift snack bars pretty much everywhere on the island. You can always expect to eat at a bargain. They offer anywhere from BBQ meats, fresh fruits and even desserts. These street merchants operate into the late hours and into the early mornings as well, so you can grab a quick snack at almost any hour.
