Phuket Seashell Museum

The Phuket Seashell Museum in Rawai Beach is a privately owned collection of some of the rarest seashells in the world. Among the collection are the world’s largest golden pearl at 140 karats and giant clams dating back 380 million years that contain the remains of some of the oldest living organisms on Earth. The museum was established over 40 years ago and is considered by some to be one of the most outstanding private museums in the world. The price for admission is 200 baht for adults and 100 baht for children.

If you are in Rawai and have an extra hour or two, the Phuket Seashell Museum may be a good use of your time. Even if you are not the museum type, there are some interesting displays that should keep most people entertained, at least for a little bit.
