Nai Harn Beach is one of the best Phuket beaches with it’s white sand that has a gentle slope into the Andaman Sea. This beautiful beach is never as crowded as some of the more popular tourist beaches and as a result, is more quiet and relaxing. You can rent chairs on the beach for about 100 baht for the entire day and drink vendors are at your command whether you want a cold beer or a fresh coconut. Try tipping a bit more for your drinks and the vendors will literally be at your beck and call throughout the day.

There are a few Thai and Seafood restaurants that line the beach where you can eat a reasonably priced meal with a sea view. If you are looking for something more personal, try the restaurant on the south end of the beach. Climb the stairs to the top of a small hill where you will find a small Thai and Seafood restaurant with an excellent view of the beach and lagoon. The food and prices are quite good.
At the southern end of Nai Harn Beach is a saltwater lagoon that fills and empties with the tide. This land is all owned by the Buddhist Temple which sits adjacent to the lagoon. Often times the changing tides will create a river of running water that connects the lagoon and the sea. This is a perfect play area for children and adults as well. Bring a floaty to one end of the river and ride the river all the way to the other. Lately, there have been a few problems with the water flowing from the lagoon to the ocean and it may not be the healthiest place to swim.
Nai Harn Beach is one of the top Phuket beaches in the south of Phuket Island and for good reason. Many tourists are drawn to this beautiful beach, but as it is about one kilometer from end to end, it never really feels crowded. If you want to spend a day at the beach lounging in the warm Phuket weather, Nai Harn Beach is never a bad choice. With all the amenities of a top tourist beach, Nai Harn Beach always makes for a fun day.

There are some good snorkeling areas at both the east and west ends of the beach, without much in between. You can also rent surf boards on the beach, but there are rarely any waves, and when there are, they aren’t very impressive. Most days Nai Harn Beach is pretty calm and good for swimming.
The easiest way to get to Nai Harn Beach is to just follow the signs. When you come to a large lagoon, you know you are almost there. Nai Harn Beach is located on the south end of the lagoon, past the Buddhist Temple. You cannot miss it.
Nai Harn Beach can be a very beautiful place, but at certain times it can be extremely dangerous. Beach goers should never forget the dangers of Phuket beaches. Some days there are very strong currents and swimmers that are not aware can be quickly swept out to sea. Always be on the lookout for any red flags on the beach. A red flag means that the water is dangerous and you should not go in.
