Why is my favorite Restaurant/Bar/Resort/Etc. not listed on this website?
There are a number of reasons why your favorite venue may not be listed on this site. Most likely, we don’t know about your venue, or didn’t think to put it on the site. Phuket is a very large island and there are literally thousands of places to visit, so it is impossible to write about them all.
Another possibility is that we don’t think as highly of said venue as you do. Thailand has very strict Anti-Defamation laws that protect businesses and individuals from bad publicity, regardless of whether it is true or not. Because of this, we only write about those venues that we recommend, we leave out those that we don’t.
If you would like to suggest something to us, feel free to contact us by e-mail. We don’t make any promises that your suggestion will appear on the site, but we do read all messages we receive.
I went to one of the places that you recommended and I didn’t like it.
First of all, that’s not a question. Secondly, we can’t really make any promises about any of the businesses that we promote on this site. One day a place can be a lot of fun and the next it can be a real bummer. We try to keep up to date, but like we’ve said many times, Phuket is a big place.
Do you get money to endorse certain businesses?
The short answer is no. However, we earn a small amount of revenue to pay web hosting costs and such, but in reality, it doesn’t even come close to covering that. We do this because we enjoy doing it, and for no other reason.
Currently, the only money that we receive from the website is from advertising revenue (which is all easily identified as advertising) and through our affiliate partnership with Booking.com. Any hotel bookings that are made through this site, we receive a very small percentage of (not even worth mentioning small). Other then that, we receive no money or incentives (free meals, merchandise, etc.) for recommending any of the businesses or locations featured on this site. Everything you see on this site is our 100% honest opinions and is never influenced by anything other then our desire to bring you the very best that Phuket has to offer.
I left a comment on one of your articles, why hasn’t it shown up yet?
In addition to Thailand’s strict Anti-Defamation laws, it also has very strict Lese Majeste laws. In order to be 100% lawful in everything that we do on our website, each comment must be first read by a human before it is allowed to be shown on the site. Just be patient and someone will get to it. If your comment still doesn’t show up, you should check out our Comment Policy and make sure your comment meets our requirements.
